The Old Silkstone Band from Barnsley has announced the end of their musical partnership with MD Simon Kerwin after three and a half years.
The band will also be saying farewell to Simon's partner and principal cornet player, Tabby Clegg.
Success
Under Simon's direction the Yorkshire band enjoyed a number of successes, including victory at the 2013 Bolsover Entertainment Contest, a podium finish at the Butlins Mineworkers Championship and prizes at the 2014 Whit Friday contests.
Together they also pioneered a return to the City of Sheffield Band Club Concert series and enhanced their entertainment reputations at the popular annual Oktoberfest event.

Super friends
Meanwhile, Simon added: "Both Tabby and I would like to wish the band every best wish for its future. We have made some super friends through the band and worked on some great musical projects.
With our growing business commitments, it is a good time for us to concentrate on future projects, but we look forward to working with the band again in the future."
