Rothwell Temperance Band has welcomed the signing of their new solo euphonium player, Chris Dullea.
Chris joins from Yorkshire rivals Carlton Main Frickley, where he enjoyed playing whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester under the expert eye of David Thornton.
Boosted
Meanwhile the cornet section has been boosted by the arrival of Lottie Groves, also from Carlton Main, and former Brighouse & Rastrick and Unite the Union cornet player, Andy Wallis.
Further signings come with Andy Goldfinch on EEb tuba, who is moving to Leeds to study mathematics at the city’s university, whilst former Rothwell player Dean Jones will take on the bass trombone role following a successful period as solo trombone with Carlton Main.
It’s been the first summer for a couple of years where I have had just good news instead of people having to leave through work or letting me down — so it gives us all a boostMD, Dave Roberts
Delighted
Conductor Dave Roberts (above) told 4BR that he is delighted to have a full team again to work with as they look ahead to the rest of the year and the new 2015 season.
"The band has been working hard and rehearsals have been great. I know we are playing really well and hopefully now our luck has changed and we have a team that want to play for Rothwell and be successful together.
