Milnrow and Gray end musical link

The successful three year partnership between Milnrow Band and Mareika Gray has come to an end.

Following their performance at the British Open Championship in Birmingham on the weekend, it has been announced that the Milnrow Band and Mareika Gray are to end their association together after three highly successful years.

The 2013 Grand Shield winners and National Finalists secured their British Open place for a third year at Symphony Hall on Saturday when they came 12th.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band and its management team would like to thank Mareika for her hard work and inspiration over the last three years and wish her every success in her future projects.

It would also be remiss not to thank Russell Gray for his part in the bands success during this time."

New chapter

They added: “We now look forward to building on that success by creating a new and exciting chapter in our progression with the appointment of a new Professional Conductor as soon as possible.

Resident conductor Kevin Gibbs will continue to keep a high standard of playing week in week out and we would like to thank him for his hard work throughout the year.”
