The Leyland Band and Blackpool Music Education Hub have been delighted with the positive response to the formation of a new North West Youth Band.
Interest
Already there has been significant interest from local bands, regional brass and percussion instrumentalists, and new partners to join Yamaha and the National Association of Brass Band Conductors, whilst several highly respected conductors have also offered their support including Richard Evans and Russell Gray.
Applicants who have shown their interest but not left their details are reminded that auditions will take place on Sunday 14th September at Blackpool Music Centre, Cherry Tree Road, Blackpool, FY4 4PH.
Auditions
However, additional audition dates are likely to be required and will take place at the Leyland bandroom on Monday 22nd, Thursday 25th and, Monday 29th September from 6.30pm.
Those wishing to join the new youth band will need to be at least equivalent to Grade 5 and, between the ages of 11 and 21.
Aspirations
Rehearsals will only take place once a month with the main focus to provide specific inspirational support to enable young brass instrumentalists to reach their aspirations.
