It is hoped that one of the most eagerly awaited instrument launches of recent times will certainly live up to expectations following responses gained from players who have been able to gain a sneak pre-launch preview of the brand new Ray Farr Signature Raw Brass Cornet from County Instruments.
Inundated
The cornet was initially unveiled at the European Brass Band Championships in Scotland a few months back, with the company trade stand inundated with players wanting to try out the latest instrument from designer Chris Waters.
Cheltenham launch
And now the responses from those lucky enough to have got their hands on the new cornet before its official launch at the National Finals in Cheltenham in September, have started to flood in — with the instrument making the same type of impression as its sister Raw Brass Signature flugel horn did before it launch a couple of years ago.
Meeting the demands
A spokesperson told 4BR: "We were certainly excited about the response the instrument gained in Perth at the European Championships, and that excitement has grown since. It certainly looks like we have created yet another instrument that meets the demands of the modern cornet player."
Following in the footsteps’ of its sister instrument, the Ray Farr Signature Raw Brass Flugel, the cornet’s designer Chris Waters has replicated the same features and benefits based around the core aspects of ease of blowing, especially in the high register, and spot-on intonation, whilst its tonal qualities mean that it is the ideal instrument to blend in with an entire cornet section or be utilised by a soloist.
All of the fantastic qualities that made the Raw Brass flugel such an outstanding instrument have been replicated with the Signature cornetspokesperson
Fantastic qualities
The spokesperson added: "All of the fantastic qualities that made the Raw Brass flugel such an outstanding instrument have been replicated with the Signature cornet.
These are achieved from the cornet’s random mass design, rimless construction using a unique alloy, Bell RimlessTM and a lacquered finish with a conical flair of the bell to amplify sound."
