Denton Brass has just completed a busy weekend of music making, with two enthusiastically received concerts performed to packed appreciative audiences — despite the horrendous weather that lashed down on the local area.
War time memories
On the Friday the band entertained the congregation at Stalybridge Unitarian Church, followed by a Sunday performance at Marple Conservative Club, with both events featuring a second half of themed war time music to commemorate the centenary of the start of World War 1 and the 70th anniversary of D Day.
Pieces such as ‘Mood Indigo’, ‘Arnhem’ and ‘Miller Magic’, were mixed with the likes of ‘Famous British Marches’ and ‘Bless ‘Em All’.
