Rod Franks funeral details announced

The funeral details of the former London Symphony Orchestra trumpet player have been announced.

4BR has been informed that the funeral of renowned London Symphony Orchestra trumpet player Rod Franks will be held at 11.00am at the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St.Alban, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 1BY on Tuesday 12th August.

Parking close to the Abbey is limited but there are plenty of car parks in the town centre.

Family flowers

There are family flowers only with but donations would be gratefully received for two charities: Musicians UK and Help for Heroes.

The family will go to the crematorium for a private service, before a reception will be held at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks (16, Abbey Mill Lane, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL3 4HE).

Celebrate

The family told 4BR: "We would be delighted to see people there to celebrate Dad’s life with us on our return from the crematorium."

July 18 • Second Trombone vacancy. A friendly Midlands 1st Section Band, Rushden are looking for a Second Trombone player to come and join us. Great repertoire and concerts plus contests twice per year. Every other year, the band goes on tour.
