4BR has been informed of the death of Ken Haggett, the former Bb tuba player and founder member of the Stanshawe Band.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Ken was a larger than life character and an integral part of the band’s early success under the great Walter Hargreaves.
He was a first class bandsman and fully committed to the Stanshawe cause and will certainly be remembered for his good humour and for all the hard work he did behind the scenes.
Our thoughts are with his partner Barbara and family at this difficult time."

The funeral will take place at Westerleigh Crematorium on Tuesday the 5th August at 3.00pm.
