Walkley set for North Shore debut in NZ

British Army musician Nick Walkley is getting ready to help North Shore Brass at the New Zealand National Championships.

Musician Nick Walkley from the Band of The Welsh Guards, is currently in New Zealand working with Championship Section band North Shore Brass as they prepare for their appearance at the forthcoming 134th New Zealand National Championships, which take place in Invercargill on the weekend.

Gold Cup

26 bands will compete in the event, with all 10 top ranked bands appearing in the premier A Grade Section in search of claiming the Championship Gold Cup, currently held by Wellington Brass. The adjudicator this year is Dr Stephen Cobb.

Nick, who recently gained a masters degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London has enjoyed a warm welcome, with band spokesperson
