The Harrogate Band recently linked up with American composer Frank Ticheli (above) for their latest concert at the prestigious Harrogate International Festival.
Specialises
Dr Ticheli is Professor of Composition at the University of Southern California, where he specialises in work for orchestra, concert band, choir and chamber groups.
The band joined under his baton with the Los Gatos Concert Band from California to perform his music at Harrogate's Royal Hall. Works included ‘Joy Revisited’, ‘Rest’ and ‘Vesuvius’, all of which were well received by the knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience.
Dr Ticheli is now discussing with Harrogate MD Craig Ratcliffe about the possibility of having his work arranged for the brass band medium.
