Skipton Brass is making an urgent appeal for players who wish to help the band out as part of their up-coming appearance in the Tour de France as it makes its way through Yorkshire.
Early morning
Chairman Peter Face told us: "We are so proud to be playing on Saturday 5th July, when the race comes through Skipton.
However, as we have been asked to rouse people in the early morning slot, the road closures and traffic problems mean that not all our regular players will be able to make the trip into the town to play on the day."
Calling
Musical Director, Adrian Lowes added: "It would be such a shame for a proud Yorkshire town not to be supported by its own brass band on such an important day, so we are calling on all brass players in the local area to help us out if they can. It will be such a great event."
With the world’s sporting media due to descend on the town, Adrian hopes that the chance to take part in such a high profile event will help the band add a few extra players to their own peloton.
"It will be fantastic chance to be seen and heard all over the world," he said.
