Foden’s will be teaming up with the Love Music Trust at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on Friday July 18th to help celebrate a year of high quality music education that has seen over 10,000 young people in Cheshire East engaged through the work of the Trust.
Concert performances
The first concert at 10.30am will see around 1000 children perform in a Vocal Celebration concert.
Following the ‘Singing Playgrounds’ project that has run in 85 Cheshire East schools throughout the year, the performance will be accompanied by a 10 piece band and feature songs the schools have been developing over the past 9 months.
Foden's soloists
The 2.00pm, ‘Brass at the Bridgwater’ feature will see three Foden’s stars performing a solo recital.
With over 60 years of experience occupying the principal chairs, Mark Wilkinson (cornet), Glyn Williams (euphonium) and John Barber (trombone) will give an intimate one hour performance featuring iconic solo brass repertoire from composers including William Himes, Peter Meechan, Andy Scott and Jan Sandstrom.
Gala concert
Finally, the Gala Celebration feature to round off the day will see the winners of the Cheshire East Schools Music Competition joined by Foden’s and the Cheshire Fire & Rescue Choir who appeared on BBC1’s The Choir: Sing While you Work programme.
This is the second consecutive year in which Foden’s has supported the Love Music Trust, the organisation that also partners the Foden’s Youth Band.
