Geneva congratulate Morton on Eikanger role

Geneva Instruments have offered their congratulations to Geneva endorsee and soloist David Morton on his appoint as the new top man at Eikanger Bjorsvik.

David Morton

Geneva Instruments have congratulated their ‘Symphony Cornet’ endorsee and solo artist David Morton on the news of his appointment as the new principal cornet with Norwegian National champion Eikanger Bjorsvik.

Choice

Following his move to Bergen just over a year ago, David became one of the latest top profile international cornet players to choose to perform on the world beating Geneva cornet.

The combination has also seen him play with the Fairey Band as principal cornet at the 2013 British Open and with the virtuosi Wallberg Band at the Swiss Open, whilst he also plays with the Norwegian Navy Band in Bergen.

Delighted

David told 4BR: "I’m absolutely delighted to take the principal seat at Eikanger Bjørsvik to do so playing the Geneva Symphony cornet.

I first heard the band over twenty years ago as a young boy, on the way to band in my Dad's car and even at that age I was intrigued by the band’s sound and how they played."

Excited

He added: "I’m really excited to be working with Professor David King once again. He has had a huge influence on me since I first met up with him in 2002, and I believe the new partnership between Professor King and Geneva Instruments will be an extremely successful one.

I’ve witnessed for myself how they share a common passion for the brass band movement and know they both strive for musical excellence.

I can only see the partnership being a great success — and I’m delighted to play on their world beating instrument."
