After five and a half successful years under the direction of John Davis, Dronfield Genquip Band has announced the appointed of David Holling as its new Musical Director.
Twin boost
David told 4BR, that even following the arrival of new born twins, he is now ready to return back to the full time demands of conducting a busy band.
"A few months before they arrived, my wife and I decided that I should reduce my banding commitments in preparation for the huge change that was about to happen in our lives.
However, now the routine has settled down, I’m delighted to have been offered the opportunity to work with Dronfield, whilst continuing as MD at Strata Brass."
Boots
He added: "I’m very good friends with John Davis and know all too well what size boots I have to attempt to fill.
The band has many talented players and a hard work ethic and I feel sure that with these attributes together we will continue on the fantastic path of success laid down by John over the last five years."
