Leyland Band’s outstanding percussion soloist Yasuaki Fukuhara will be returning to Japan later this month to make a first concert appearance in his home country since coming to the UK three and half years ago to study at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Guest soloist
Yasuaki will appear as guest soloist with Tokyo City Concert Brass, to give the première of 'Anthracite Dances' composed by James McFadyen. He will also play the marimba alongside the flugel horn in the joint feature 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' which he performed with Leyland at Brass in Concert last year.
Following the concert, Yasuaki will release his debut solo CD entitled 'The Golden Apples of the Sun', the title track of which he premièred with Fairey Band at the 2013 RNCM Festival of Brass. He flies back on July 8th.
