At the conclusion of the First World War the small village of Pensax in rural Worcestershire was too poor to afford a War Memorial to commemorate the names of those who gave their lives in the terrible conflict.
Local historian
Even after the Second World War there was still no permanent memorial to their sacrifice, until a local historian began researching the names and the local community set about raising money for one to be erected in their honour.
After many years of hard work, the dedication recently took place in the presence of the Bishop of Worcester, the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, the Royal British Legion and descendants of the fallen. The memorial was made from local stone quarried in the nearby Clent Hills.

Hymns
The West Midlands Fellowship Band played hymns during the service as well as before and after the event, whilst as a mark of respect a small plane flew overhead and dropped a quantity of poppy petals as the dedication was taking place.
