With the European Championships barely fading from the memory, Scottish banding takes to the competitive road once again as the Northern Counties Brass Band Association holds its annual Open Entertainment Contest this Saturday 24th May, at Loch Leven Community Campus in Kinross, Perthshire.
Doors open
Doors open to the public at 9.30am, with the first band taking to the stage at 10.00am. The results of the entertainment event, which sees each band provide a 20 minute programme, are scheduled for approximately 4.45pm.
Although only reintroduced to the Scottish contesting calendar in 2013, this year’s event has attracted a good mix of entries, with a total of fourteen bands from Inverness to Ayrshire lined up for adjudicator Annie Crookston to compare and contrast.
