A busy few months of brass band events in the South West of England starts this Sunday, with the annual Weston-Super-Mare own choice contest at the town’s Winter Gardens.
Weston kick off
The event kicks off at 10.30am, when adjudicators Paul Cosh and Stan Lippeatt, as well as an anticipated supportive audience will hear the first of the day’s contenders.
Meanwhile, the Exmouth Brass Band Festival will take place on Saturday 6th September when up to 15 bands will compete in the entertainment contest at the Exmouth Pavilion, as well as presenting fringe concerts throughout the day in the adjoining Gardens.
Masterclass
Later in the month there will be a cornet and soprano workshop led by Black Dyke’s Richard Marshall, with the year rounded off with the popular SWBBA Annual Championships on Saturday 1st November at the Riviera International Conference Centre, Torquay.
