Several musical groups from Wardle Academy and their partner primary schools recently took part in the regional Music for Youth Festival.
Delighted
Following the enjoyable day, the Academy’s Folk Group, conducted by Cliff Woodworth; Wind Band, directed by Jane Conway; Youth Band and Smithy Bridge Primary Brass Band, both conducted by Lee Rigg, were all delighted to be informed they have made it through to the National Festival at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall later in the year.

Fringe
Three other groups, all conducted by Wardle Academy, have been invited to participate in the Fringe Festival at the National Festival in Birmingham.
The Choir, St Andrew’s Brass Band and Littleborough Brass Band will perform in the Festival Tent, and will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops and receive free tickets for the performances in at Symphony Hall.
