Several musical groups from Wardle Academy and their partner primary schools recently took part in the regional Music for Youth Festival.

Delighted

Following the enjoyable day, the Academy’s Folk Group, conducted by Cliff Woodworth; Wind Band, directed by Jane Conway; Youth Band and Smithy Bridge Primary Brass Band, both conducted by Lee Rigg, were all delighted to be informed they have made it through to the National Festival at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall later in the year.

Proud

Janet Emsley, Director of Performing Arts, told 4BR: "We are incredibly proud that three of our groups and one of our primary partners have been invited to the National Festival.

This is a fantastic achievement and testimony to the hard work of all involved.”
