The growing interest and expansion of the brass band movement in the USA will gain another boost on May 11th, when the Winona Brass Band from Minnesota will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Special concert
The event will be celebrated in a special concert at the town’s St. Cecilia Theatre, where the band has been an integral part of a vibrant local art and music community and enjoys a loyal local audience following.
Throughout its history, the band has performed at local and regional venues including summer concert series’ and regional festivals.
World premiere
Under the direction of Dr. Richard Lindner, the band continues to delight audiences, and the concert will feature the world premiere of a new work for brass band entitled, ‘Exaltation Tryptich’ by the highly respected Winona based composer, Eric Heukeshoven. Other works will include ‘Men of Stone’ and ‘Brass Triumphant’.
