Bradwell Silver Band recently held their annual Spring Concert & Awards Presentation evening.
To a packed audience at their local St James Church, the band, under the baton of Musical Director Brian Keech performed an enjoyable programme which varied from Mozart to Robbie Williams.
Soloists
Featured soloists included talented youngster Orla Howell on cornet with an emotive performance of ‘Send in the Clowns’, John Lee on trombone with a new arrangement of ‘From a Distance’, a euphonium duet from Luke Colvin and Fraser Cousins ‘A Foxtrot Between Friends’ and a lively rendition of ‘I Will Follow Him’ from the trombone section of Luca Ianotta, Jemma Day and John Lee.
Development Band
The Bradwell Development Band, conducted by Luke Colvin, showed the appreciative audience how they are improving by performing the old favourite ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ and the circus themed,‘Around the Circle’.
MD Brian Keech told 4BR: "The band gave an excellent concert to an appreciative audience. The six soloists were all in fine form and the event gave a fine start to the band’s engagement season."

Awards
The band’s awards saw presentations made to Stephanie Chappell for her services as Quartermaster and Press Officer, Luke Colvin for dedication to the Development Band and teaching programme,Daniel Gaylor for his continued improvement on cornet and John Lee, principal trombone, as Bandsman of the Year.
