Derwent Brass has announced the signing of Michael Wallis to their percussion section ahead of their appearance at the Senior Cup contest in Blackpool on the weekend.
Wealth of talent
Band spokesperson Rob Stew told 4BR: "Following his recent move to Derbyshire, the former Royal Marines musician and member of the British Legion Central Band brings a wealth of talent, enthusiasm and much needed discipline to keep the boys in line at the back of the band!"
After a career in both the Marines and the Nat West Bank, Michael has worked for the last 15 years as a geography and PE teacher, including postings in West Africa and Qatar.
It’s really great to have Michael on board. He is just the sort of musician and character we need, and we hope he has a long and enjoyable time with usMD, Keith Leonard
