The Hatfield Band has announced four new signings ahead of their Senior Trophy Spring Festival contest challenge in Blackpool in a few weeks time.
Experience
The experienced Nick Harris joins on solo baritone, a seat which has been made vacant by Peter Jones' decision to step down after serving the Hatfield organisation for a number of years.
Also joining is the father and son pairing of Ian and Nigel Kennedy who come in on solo trombone and principal cornet respectively, whilst Neil Wright bolsters the Eb bass section.
Massive boost
A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Nick's experience will be a massive boost having played with the likes of Brighouse & Rastrick, Carlton Main Frickley and Thoresby Colliery.
Neil brings a wealth of experience having also played for Brighouse & Rastrick in the past, and is no stranger to us as his father Harvey was a highly respected member of the band.
Ian and Nigel have both been playing recently with Frickley South Elmsall but decided to make the switch to Hatfield to work alongside MD Stan Lippeatt."
We are delighted with the new signings that have brought added strength to key areas within the bandMD, Stan Lippeatt
Added strength
Stan told 4BR: "We are delighted with the new signings that have brought added strength to key areas within the band. We would like to wish Peter and his family all the best and thank him for his great service over the years."
He added: "We are now looking forward to preparing for the Senior Trophy and National Finals in Cheltenham later this year."
