Cry of the Monitors in Ashton

New arrivals have meant a cry or two of a different sort on banding nights in Ashton...

Cornets

North West First Section challenger Ashton under Lyne is celebrating a double addition to their playing ranks – although perhaps not until about 2030!

Arrivals

Three of their current players are celebrating the arrival of newborn babies — with Bb bass player Gary Roylance and partner, solo horn Louise Marsden recently welcoming young Daniel into the banding world.

Meanwhile, cornet player David Ashworth and his partner Annette have said hello to Isabelle Lilly.

So you could say that it won't only be a ‘Cry of the Mountain’ they have to listen out for at the upcoming area contest – more like cries from the baby monitors!Ashton under Lyne Band

Band spokesperson Tony Winterbottom told 4BR: "Both babies were born within a month of each other and are doing well.

So you could say that it won't only be a ‘Cry of the Mountain’ they have to listen out for at the upcoming area contest – more like cries from the baby monitors!"
