Tilbury invest in youthful future

The new Tilbury Brass & Percussion Academy looks to revolutionary future.

Charlotte Treadway

The Tilbury Band has invested in its long term development of young playing talent with the news that they have appointed a percussion tutor and MD for their newly formed Brass & Percussion Academy.

Initiative

The initiative will be led by Charlotte Treadaway, an established and skilled percussionist with experience of playing at all levels, from youth and senior brass bands to wind ensembles and professional orchestras.

Charlotte is also a highly proficient saxophonist and has performed in various locations around the UK including Bestival and regular appears along with drumkit on the emerging Welsh jazz circuit.

Desire

Tilbury Brass Academy MD Ben Jones told 4BR: “We are delighted. Charlotte brings to the organisation a huge amount of experience and the desire to move our player development forward.

It was quickly apparent she was the right person for the job and I cannot be more excited about the prospect of working alongside Charlotte to create what I believe is something revolutionary for southern banding."
