2015 will see the 50th anniversary of the Lanner & District Silver Band — one that has seen the organisation start from humble beginnings in a chicken shed to the completion of a state of the art rehearsal venue with its own recording facilities.
Happy memories
Now the band wishes to commemorate the event by sharing happy memories, as Band Chairman, Lee Rouse told 4BR: "Over the last 50 years we have been lucky enough to have a great many members and supporters and each of them will have their own memories and stories about their time with the band.
We would love to hear from them and find out what they are up to now, and reminisce about good old times because we want to publish a book covering the band’s first 50 years."

Amusing
Lee is hoping for lots of anecdotes, the more amusing the better.
"We want a book that people will browse through time and time again instead of just sitting on the book shelf,” he added. “The more people we have willing to share their memories the better to show what Lanner Band is all about."
Musical Director, Stuart Chappell added: "I’ve been associated with the band for many years, and enjoyed some great times. I have plenty of memories I would love to see reproduced for people to read in years to come."
