The European Brass Band Association has extended its application deadline for the 6th European Soloist Competition (ESC) for brass and percussion instruments.
Four rounds
The competition, with prize money of 7,000 Euros, is be held in Perth in conjunction with the European Brass Band Championship, and will comprise four rounds.
The final on May 1st, will see the best three young instrumentalists play a major work with accompaniment provided by Kirkintilloch Band.
The new deadline for entries is March 1st.

Championship contenders
Meanwhile, the list of competing bands in the Championship Section of the event has been released.
The contest on May 2nd/3rd will see reigning champion, Cory up against bands from nine other countries, including debutants and former B Section winners Austrian Brass Band of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and Tongwynlais Temperance from Wales.
