Extra Cornerstone put in place

Yorkshire champion gains extra player help ahead of Bradford with new signing of an old familiar face.

Cornestrone

Cornerstone Brass has announced the signing of euphonium player Stephen Mortimer who joins the band in time for the forthcoming Yorkshire Area Championship in March.

Founder member

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Stephen, who hails from Malton in North Yorkshire, was one of the founder members of the band but work and family commitments meant that he had to step down.

However, he now finds himself in a position where he can now return and work alongside rising young euphonium star Joel Moore."

It’s the final piece in the jigsaw heading to the areas where we are hoping for a repeat of last year’s contest victory!MD, Daniel Wileman

Delighted

MD Damien Wileman told 4BR: "I’m delighted to welcome Stephen back to the band. He is a wonderfully talented musician and a good friend to us all and so when a position came available, I had no hesitance in getting on the phone to him.

It’s the final piece in the jigsaw heading to the areas where we are hoping for a repeat of last year’s contest victory!"
