The 4BR Christmas Day brain ticklers certainly got a few of you in a bit of a quandary — although it didn’t stop plenty of people using what suspiciously looked like their new phones and tablet devices to post their answers to us!

In the end the only non Welsh band to beat Cory at any contest in 2013 was Manger Musikklag at the World Championships in Kerkrade (although Eikanger won one leg of the Europeans but not the overall first prize).
The badge of Lofthouse 2000 Brass is resplendent with sticks of rhubarb – the band coming from the world famous (and EU protected) ‘Rhubarb Triangle’ in West Yorkshire.
And finally, the major 2013 test piece was ‘Arabian Nights’ with the link provided by David Bowie’s album ‘Aladdin Sane’ and the 1992 Disney cartoon film ‘Aladdin’.

Well known brass band compere and conductor Dave Hayward was picked out of the electronic hat after he (with more than a little help from his wife Sarah) came up with the right answer.
