The sound of British Open champion Tredegar will be heard hundreds of times over the radio airwaves in Wales this Christmas thanks to the talents of Composer in Residence Matthew Hall.
Scrooge
Matt and members of the band were asked see if they could provide a series of festive jingles incorporating the catchy BBC Radio Wales theme music for the festive season — and to the BBC Producers delight, Matt came up trumps with some brilliant little numbers guaranteed to put a smile on even Scrooge’s face!
Brass Day
Members of the band headed to the BBC studios in Llandaff in Cardiff on Thursday night to meet presenter Beverley Humphreys, who has been spearheading the station’s ‘Brass Day’ on Wednesday 18th December, which will be celebrating all the great achievements of Welsh banding in 2013.
Beverley was delighted with the music and is also looking forward to meeting up with the band once again when they will be providing the musical climax to the day with a concert, broadcast live on Radio Wales on the evening of the 18th.
Brilliant job
"The jingles are wonderful," she said. "Matthew has done a brilliant job – and in such a short space of time. Everyone had a Christmas smile on their faces when they left the studio.
It’s going to be a great day of celebration on the 18th too, so I hope everyone will tune into Radio Wales to hear the band and to find out more about the event."
