Hirst unites as new MD

The vastly experienced David Hirst has been appointed the new MD at Unite the Union in Yorkshire.

Unite the Union Band has announced that the highly experienced David Hirst has accepted the invitation to become the band’s new Musical Director.

Working hard

A spokesperson told 4BR: "David is regarded as one of the finest band trainers in the country and we are already working hard preparing for the Butlins Championships in January and looking forward to the challenge of ‘St Magnus’ at the Yorkshire Area."

Impressed

David added: "I’ve conducted the band on numerous occasions over the years and have been impressed with the enthusiasm and forward thinking of the players and management.

I’m looking forward to the challenge of the next two contests and a busy concert diary, which includes a number of prestigious events."
