The Fairey Band has confirmed a trio of horn signings ahead of their appearance at this year’s Brass in Concert Championship in Gateshead.
Experience
The experienced Paul Bennett comes in on solo horn, making a welcome return to top flight banding following a highly successful and enjoyable two year spell with Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band.
"It was too good an opportunity to turn down and it’s great to join a band with such an amazing history and pedigree as Fairey," he said.
"I’m so impressed with the quality of players around the stands and am excited to be part of the team."
Horn additions
Meanwhile, Bobby Corkish and Victoria Lundberg complete the trio on first and second horn respectively.
A former member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, 17 year old Bobby is in his first year at the Royal Northern College of Music, recently moving from the Isle of Man, where he played solo horn with Rushen Silver Band.
Victoria brings a wealth of experience, previously studying at Huddersfield University and the RNCM, and most recently playing with Carlton Main Frickley Band.
