A long time member of the Salvation Army and currently their Divisional Music Director in Wisconsin, USA, Composer in Residence to Virtuosi GUS Band and Editor of SA Bandsman magazine, Andrew holds a music degree from Middlesex University.
Acclaimed
His composition skills were first recognized in 1997 when he became runner-up in Performance in the UK Arts Channel’s ‘Young Composer of the Year’ competition.
His critically acclaimed projects include arranging Karl Jenkins’ works 'The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace' for brass band, choir, and organ, 'Stabat Mater', and ‘Gloria’ for brass band.
He has also been commissioned by soloists such as Brett Baker, David Daws, David Childs, Chris Jeans, James Fountain, Les Neish and Sheona White and was the organizer of the 'Brass for Africa' concert series, which raised nearly £12,000 for various African projects.
As a performer, he has played in numerous ensembles including Cory and Virtuosi GUS bands, and participated in tours of Europe, North America and Africa.
