Thoresby Colliery

Thoresby Band has welcomed two new faces to complete their line up, adding more experience and youthful talent to what they tell 4BR is an already strong line up.

Cornet and baritone

George Newbould joins on second cornet to complete the back row team having previously occupied the principal cornet chair of Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band.

Meanwhile, Paul Haigh joins on solo baritone from the Kibworth Band adding his previous experience of the very highest level to the middle of the band.

Both players will be in the line up for the upcoming Bolsover contest4BR

Experience

A spokesperson told 4BR: "George has been known to the band for some time and played with us at the Grand Shield earlier this year. He is a hugely talented young man with a brilliant attitude and desire to learn and improve even further.

Paul is also an experienced player of such high quality player and a great guy. It's not an easy chair to fill and we couldn't be happier with the appointment."

Both players will be in the line up for the upcoming Bolsover contest.
