Death of Arthur Parkinson

The death has been announced of north west bandsman Arthur Parkinson.

4BR has been informed of the death of John Arthur Parkinson, known to everyone as Arthur, who passed away on the 19th September. He was 75 years of age.

Cornet player

Arthur, from Goose Green in Wigan, played for Wigan Boys Club and Skelmersdale Bands, as well as helping out the likes of Ashton and Lower Ince in Wigan, where he was regarded as a fine cornet player and soloist.

Funeral

The funeral is taking place at St. Judes Roman Catholic Church in Worsley Mesnes, Wigan, at 9.30am on Tuesday 1st October.
