Newly crowned British Open champions Tredegar will be presented with an additional award following success at Symphony Hall on the weekend.

Bandmaster Ltd in association with Wallace Brass sponsored a British Open prize of 10 ground breaking Wallace Brass cornet mutes to be selected by the winning band, and next Thursday, Bandmaster Managing Director Matthew Ruel will visit Tredegar at their rehearsal to present the award.

Matthew told 4BR: "Our congratulations to all members of the seventeen bands who competed and to the new British Open Champions Tredegar and their conductor Ian Porthouse who won the award."
