A certain family of Cornish musicians are currently preparing for their unique appearance at the National Championships in Cheltenham.
Family ties
Bodmin Town Band will be competing in the Third Section playing Simon Dobson’s ‘Penlee’, and playing in the band is Simon’s dad, Dave, on Bb bass.
Meanwhile, Julie, Dave’s wife (and Simon’s step-mum) is playing flugel horn and her three daughters, Alina, Cathryn and Charlotte are playing second baritone, first horn and second cornet respectively — making this a true family affair.
The family also play for Liskeard Silver Band where Dave is MD and they even have their very own brass ensemble, Jdacc Brass4BR
