Composer Nigel Clarke’s international profile will be further enhanced later this month following his invitation to conduct a concert of his music in Hong Kong.
Acclaim
Following the critical acclaim of Brass Band Buizingen’s CD of his music entitled, ‘When World’s Collide’, he will now take the baton of the HKBDA Wind Orchestra in a concert of his music on 20th September in Tsuen Wan Town Hall as part of the prestigious Hong Kong Band Directors Association festival.
Nigel will direct performances of `Earthrise', `Gagarin' and the `Flavour of Tears', and told 4BR that the occasion will bring back many happy memories for him.
It is a wonderful event with a magnificent orchestra to conduct, so I am looking forward to it immenselyNigel Clarke
Exciting return
"What is exciting about the event is that I was ‘Young Composer-in-Residence’ at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts back in 1987 and this will be my first visit to Hong Kong since then.
It is a wonderful event with a magnificent orchestra to conduct, so I am looking forward to it immensely."
