4BR has been informed that due to extensive refurbishment that will take place at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, a new venue will have to be found for the hosting of the 2014 National Youth Championships.
New venue
It is understood that the Youth Sub-Committee of organisers Brass Bands England have been informed by the RNCM of the building work, and will now seek a replacement venue for the immensely popular event with immediate effect.
Held in April this year, the four sections attracted 42 bands and hundreds of players and supporters.
Refurbishment
A BBE spokesperson informed 4BR: "The Royal Northern College of Music has stated that a refurbishment of the Concert Hall is to go ahead.
This means that the 2014 National Youth Championship will not take place at the RNCM."

Replacement
They added: "However, the Sub-Committee is determined that the Championships will go ahead and are seeking a replacement venue.
As soon as a venue has been secured, all bands on the Youth Championship database will have full details posted to them."
4BR understands that due to the work being undertaken a new venue for the popular RNCM Festival of Brass is also being considered.
