Boob girls consider augmentation

The wonderful girls of Boobs & Brass are looking into the possibility of expanding their assets...

Boobs and Brass in action

After seven wonderful years of remarkable fund raising activity, the girls of ‘Boobs & Brass’ have decided that their magnificent assets need a bit of augmentation.

Startling

With well over £120,000 raised for charitable causes – including an amazing £105,000 towards the fight against breast cancer, the popularity of their campaign continues to carry on with startling success.

Augmentation

As a result, and after numerous requests, the ‘B&B’ management team is looking into the possibility of augmenting their current set up with a second band that would be able to expand their current charitable concert work in the northern parts of England, up into Scotland and even beyond!

Jane and Maggie from Boobs & Brass told 4BR that with so many people now wishing to get involved, the decision would make sense, as it would cut down travel time for many players and supporters who now want to get actively involved.

More girls

"Preliminary enquiries in the Yorkshire region alone have resulted in over eighty responses from ladies who want to be involved, but for whom travelling the long distance to Northamptonshire for rehearsals is not practical," they said.

"Several bands have offered the use of their facilities for rehearsal purposes, which would cut down the journey time considerably."

Working

They added: "It is still at an early stage, but if there is a possibility of it working, it can only add to what is being done by the pretty remarkable women – and men – currently involved. Let's not forget – men can also get breast cancer!"

Not finished

As the plans for the new ensemble progress, the girls told 4BR that the boob job is far from finished.

"The work carries on," they said.

"In the meantime we would like to thank every player, conductor, compere, arranger and supporter that has helped us to achieve what we have so far, and for being 'part of the cure'. But we are determined to keep working to finally beat it."
