Trumpets and Tulips at Araluen

Bands from all over Perth head to the hills in September.

Tulips at Araluen Botanic Park in Roleystone

Escape the election madness on September 7 — head out to Araluen Botanic Park in Roleystone for a picnic and an afternoon of free musical entertainment by some of Perth's best community bands. At the same time, explore the grounds of the park and enjoy the sights of the tulip festival.

10 bands

Hosted by the Western Australian Band Association, the event will feature 10 brass and concert bands from across the metropolitan area, including the Canning City Brass Band (current National B-Grade Brass champions), Perth Concert Band (current National B-Grade Concert Champions), and Armadale Concert Band (current State A-Grade Concert Champions). Each group will perform a 30 minute selection of popular music and classic band arrangements.

The festival will commence in the main amphitheatre at 10.30am and run throughout the afternoon — weather permitting.

For more information contact band association secretary Helen Junk on 0438 273 092 or festival organiser Rob McCormack on 0438 764 107, or find our event on Facebook. Park entry fees may apply.
