The West Midlands Divisional Fellowship Band of the Salvation Army recently visited the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas in Staffordshire.
Concert
There they performed a concert for COFE POWS which is an organisation that helps former Prisoners of War in the Far East and their dependants.
Following a moving Remembrance Service, the band, under Bandmaster Charles King presented a varied programme including ‘Star Lake’, ‘Jubilee Day’ and ‘Jesus Bids Us Shine’.
Very moving
Band spokesperson David Birch told 4BR: "The Memorial Arboretum is a very moving and spiritual place with a quiet serenity which belies its grandeur.
The band hoped that they contributed in some small way to the whole variety of thoughts, memories and emotions which such a gathering will always generate."
