Composer Simon Dobson has been ensuring that he keeps his musical interests as diverse as ever by working closely with the critically acclaimed rock group, ‘The PJP Band’ as a session player and conductor.
New single
And on the release of their video to accompany the new single, ‘Longtime Runner’ from the album ‘And So it Goes’, the Cornishman is also featured – conducting in slow motion isolation as pub-life carries on all around him.
Different
Simon told 4BR: "I’ve been working with the band and really enjoying it, so when they came up with the idea for the video I jumped at the chance to be involved.
I'm not sure how often this kind of music video has been made, but it certainly shows conducting in a different light!"
Busy summer
After a busy summer of festival shows with his band ‘Freshly Squeezed’, Simon was also lucky enough to be asked to take part in a composer’s lab with the Metal Culture organisation in Liverpool, whilst he still working hard on his innovative crowd-funded album project 'Eunierophrenia'.

Collaborations
"I'm hoping that the Liverpool opportunity will lead to some very exciting collaborations," he added.
"I've been having meetings with brilliant young producers and engineers from rock and electronic music backgrounds so they are certainly giving me new ideas all the time.
The 'Eunierophrenia' album is now planned and most of the players put in place. A great sounding weekend is planned for the very start of next year.
All of the other music will have been recorded by this point and so the album will be available shortly after this."
