Hutchinson to take NZ concert detour

Cory principal cornet player Tom Hutchinson is to take a a further detour south before returning home to the UK.

With Cory enjoying the second part of its tour to Australia and the possibility of just a few days of rest and recuperation before their assault on the British Open in Birmingham in early September, principal cornet Tom Hutchinson has announced that will be staying in the southern hemisphere a little longer as he looks forward to travelling to New Zealand.

Two concerts

Tom will perform in two concerts — one with North Shore Band and Waitakere Brass in Auckland and the other with Hutt City Brass in Wellington.

He will also meet up with fellow Besson artist Byron Newton for concerts with a bit of a Welsh connection, as ‘Buzz’ used to play principal euphonium with Tredegar during his time in the UK.
