Prestigious
It is one of the prestigious 2013 ‘Concerts in the Park’ series which this year sees a host of top armed forces musicians and bands perform at the iconic venue.
The British Army Brass Band (BABB) was formed in 2007 from the finest brass and percussion players across the Corps of Army Music and the Territorial Army and has since gone on to provide concert performance all over the UK.
Talents
Brass band aficionados will know of their talents after performances in recent years at the Pontins and National Finals, whilst their CD ‘Top Brass’ was met with widespread critical acclaim.
The band continues to go from strength to strength, with a key aim of recruiting for the Corps of Army Music and the wider Army.
Variety
Under the batons of Major David Barringer, Captain Justin Matthews and Student Bandmasters they will be performing a great programme of music, with everything from a classic march to Louis Prima, MacArthur Park to Greensleeves, the Firebird to Swing Low!
Les Neish and Brett Baker are sure to be on sparkling form (and don’t forget their masterclasses), so why not make a day of it and come along and enjoy some of the finest music making anywhere in the land.
