Wigan Youth Band was recently presented with the ‘Innovation Award’ at the National Festival Music for Youth at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
Tally Boy
Under the direction of Dave Little, the band performed the recently commissioned work, ‘The Tally Boy’ written by BBC Philharmonic Orchestra tuba player Christopher Evans.
The composition featured solos from principal cornet player Ben Coulson and solo trombone player Gemma Riley, whilst the band completed their programme with ‘Japanese Slumber Song’ which again featured solos from Ben Coulson, solo horn Rohit Japegnanam and solo euphonium Tom Collier.
