Wardle High School Youth Band recently performed at the Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham where they were awarded the Schools Brass Bands Certificate of Achievement for Performance Practice.

The band was conducted by Black Dyke star Lee Rigg, who also directed Smithy Bridge Primary School Band in the Junior Section and came away with the same award.
Wardle High Youth Band performed ‘Old 100th’, ‘Vitae Lux’ and the ‘Toccata’ from ‘Suite Gothique’ to receive outstanding remarks from the musical mentors who judged them on the day.
