Old Hall Brass has announced the appointment of one of their own rising star players Liv Appleton as their new principal cornet.
Starting at the bottom
Having joined the Old Hall organisation through the ranks of their community band just three years ago on bottom third cornet, Liv has worked her way up to now take on the principal role.
"Now that Liv has taken her GCSE exams, this is the perfect time to work to develop her into a fantastic principal cornet playerMD, John North
Great reward
MD, John North told 4BR: "It's very satisfying to give Liv this opportunity. She has been dedicated and worked so hard to achieve this position. It’s a great reward for all her efforts."
He added: "Now that Liv has taken her GCSE exams, this is the perfect time to work to develop her into a fantastic principal cornet player. It's also worth mentioning that current principal cornet Matthew Smalley is stepping aside to give Liv the opportunity.
His new job as an ambulance driver will be more demanding on his time and so he also thinks it's a perfect time to give Liv a chance at the top seat."
