The Drighlington Band has rounded off a pretty successful few weeks on the highly competitive march & hymn tune contest circuit in Yorkshire, according to a spokesperson.

Pleased

"We have been very pleased with our recent achievements in the local march contests," they told 4BR.

"On our first outing to the recent Morley event we came 5th overall, followed by claiming the runner-up spot at Hebden Bridge and winning the prize for being the highest placed First Section band at the Brighosue Festival contest on the weekend."

Further boosts

The band now hopes to boost their fund raising campaign for the National Finals in Cheltenham in September with further contest successes in the coming few weeks.
