Following the recent announcement that his new composition, 'Out of the Storm Clouds', will be used as the set work for the Second Division of the Dutch National Championships in December, composer and Black Dyke horn star Jonny Bates is looking forward to a more imminent visit to the Netherlands.
World Championship
On the 2nd July, he travels to Goes in the south of the country to meet up with Delta Brass Zeeland, and their conductor Arie Stolk ahead of the band's performance at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade on the 6th July.
Jonny became acquainted with the band after they claimed first prize at in the First Division at the French Open in Amboise (above) earlier this month, performing his set work 'Within the Paths of Righteousness'.

He told 4BR: "I'm really looking forward to meeting up with band next week ahead of the contest. However, I’m also hopeful that two days will just be long enough to rekindle my love affair with the fantastic Dutch waffles!"
